Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, JC Express Movers, Inc. is both a fully licensed and insured moving company. We are licensed by the California Public Utilities Commission, CAL P.U.C. T-191474.

Can any items remain in the drawers of my furniture?

We ask that you pack any heavy clothing and bedding in moving boxes. Clothing remaining in the drawers can drastically increase the weight of a piece and potentially damage the drawers in transit. We also ask that you remove anything valuable or fragile, as well as any small items that could shift or fall out in transit. We are not responsible for the loss of such items.

Can you move house plants?

Though most moving companies will not take your plants, if you're moving locally, our crews can accommodate a limited number of plants, depending on their size and the available space in the truck. We ask that you do not water your plants for three (3) days prior to the move; this will prevent the plants from leaking water onto your other belongings.

Can you disconnect my appliances for moving?

With any electrical connections, we will be more than happy to assist you. However, with any gas or water lines, you should consult your local utility company or a qualified technician for removal and installation. This is to ensure the safety of everyone participating in your move.

Are there any items that you cannot move?

We cannot transport any items classified as "Hazardous Materials" by the U.S. Department of Transportation. This includes flammable liquids, corrosive chemicals, explosives, flammable and/or compressed gases, charcoal, paints & paint thinners, and some cleaning agents. Additionally, though we are happy to move gun safes, we cannot move ammunition or firearms. Feel free to contact us if you have any concerns about particular items.

Is it customary to tip the crew?

Our crews are the hardest working professionals in the business; and though tips are not required, they are certainly appreciated.

Can you pack and move me on the same day?

Of course we can. However, whether the entire move is accomplished in a single day, or packing is done one day and moving is done another, must be dictated by the size of the home being moved.
